Chris Jan is a Partner at SDA, with over 10 years of experience across M&A, asset management, and energy transition research.

He was previously an Investment Principal at Partners Capital, where he was a portfolio manager and led the firm’s energy transition research. Chris previously worked in M&A at CVCapital Securities (cross-border, China), R.W. Baird (Industrials), and served in government as an Investment Officer at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, cumulatively completing over $3B of transactions.

Chris received his BSE in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MPP from Harvard Kennedy School.

Jason Tai, Partner

Jason Tai is a Partner at SDA, with over 20 years of experience across project finance, clean tech, and operations.

He founded Green Lake Capital, and later Ahana Renewables, building solar IPP investment platforms in the US, UK, and India. He has raised tax equity, senior debt, and back-leverage financing for renewable energy projects and has secured venture funding for novel clean tech start-ups. Earlier, Jason held investment banking roles at Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse.

He earned an MBA from MIT Sloan and a BA in economics from Wesleyan University.

Jean-Baptiste Le Marois, Principal

Jean-Baptiste Le Marois is a Principal at SDA, bringing nearly 10 years of experience across clean tech, policy, and innovation.

He was previously at the International Energy Agency (IEA), advising Minister-level decision makers on issues relating to technology, supply chains and investment, and multilateral cooperation. He co-authored 50+ IEA publications, and helped develop the innovation practice, leading to global landmarks such as the $94B commitment for clean energy demonstrations. Earlier, he raised funds for a space tech start-up, and worked with Rothschild & Co. Sovereign Advisory on access to finance and debt restructuring of $200B+.

Jean-Baptiste holds a MSc from École Polytechnique (France) and an MPP from Harvard Kennedy School.
